The Vasari Corridor is a hidden gem in Florence!

It’s an elevated passageway about 750 metres long, it was built by architect Giorgio Vasari in 1565: the Medici family used it to reach Palazzo Vecchio from Pitti Palace (the Medici family’s residence) undisturbed and without running risks to their safety.

Closed in 2016 to allow it to be brought up to safety standards, it has been fully restored (the last work dates back to the 1990s) and on 21 December it will be accessible again with a special ticket: enter through the Uffizi, walk over Ponte Vecchio and exit through the Boboli Gardens.
