As a local guide<\/strong> and foremost, in love with my region, I\u2019ve noticed that first-time visitors often end up in the same places, missing some incredible towns that offer a more authentic and peaceful experience.<\/p>\n

Here are my top choices<\/span> for beginners, perfect for couples, families, and everybody who wants charm, culture, wine, and that classic Tuscan atmosphere\u2026 without the crowds<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Why it’s perfect for first-timers:<\/h3>\n

– Contfy, easy to explore in a few hours.<\/p>\n

– Spectacular views of the Val d\u2019Orcia area.<\/p>\n

– Fantastic boutique hotels for couples and Agriturismi (Agri farm) for your stay.<\/p>\n

– Great base for exploring other beautiful towns such as Montalcino<\/strong> & Montepulciano<\/strong>, among others.<\/p>\n

What I love as a guide and a food lover:<\/h3>\n

The town invites you to eat lots of pecorino cheese, literally. – Authentic, slower pace
– Medieval atmosphere.
– Rich history in a compact center
– Alabaster workshops available for visits and demonstration.
– Close enough to Siena<\/strong> and the coast<\/strong><\/p>\n

My local tip:<\/h3>\n

– Great restaurants and wine bars.<\/p>\n

– Fantastic views across the valley.<\/p>\n

– Easy base for exploring southern Tuscany.<\/p>\n

– Lots of small luxury hotels and villas.<\/p>\n

Guide’s take:<\/h3>\n

– Excellent wineries.<\/p>\n

– Beautiful (and famous!) cypress-lined avenue.\u00a0<\/p>\n

– NO crowds.<\/p>\n
